The Internet And Politics (Assignment 5)

My topic is on abortion of unborn babies. Many people are against it because killing an unborn child is wrong and the baby has every right to live like everyone else. Some other people have nothing against it because they just don't care, or because the fetuses can be donated to scientist for stem cell research which can lead to medical breakthroughs. Many people across the country protest against abortions, have petitions, etc, to persuade the government to make abortions illegal in the country. Other people could protest that the unborn fetuses could save lives and could be the way to make cures for incurable diseases. They could also have petitions signed and whatnot. I think it is against the law in some parts of the country and other parts you can get an abortion. In the end, the government has the power to make it illegal or legal.

Journalist going after these stories could have it's ups and downs. They report what the issue is between the citizens and government, how it's being handled, and what the outcome is. I think in some articles, the reporters also include their opinions and support one side to the conflict. If they support the government or make the wrong comment, they could receive death threats or be found and get beat up, could result in more conflicts or the reporter leaver his/her position. Supporting the people against abortions could bring positive comments and more stronger community to fight the issue, they could be rewarded or receive a commendation for their support or article, etc.

The issue continues......

Consumer Issues (Assignment 4)

Well one consumer issue would be back in 2008 when ski-doo (Bombardier Recreation Products) released a state of the art snowmobile called the "Rev xp" it was a whole new vehicle designed from the ground up and 50 lbs lighter than it's predecessor, the rev platform. They wanted to make the chassis lighter and stronger but that came at a price, making the machine lighter brought out some problems with the product, it has been tested and designed since 2003 but every new product will have bugs that need to be worked out in the first year. Many consumers reported that thier machines burnt, blew many drive belts, leaked oil and coolant, motors blowing up (not literally), the chassis itself bending and breaking, etc. BRP responded by putting warranty on every component of the sled and put out recalls to fix defective parts. Many consumers were not happy with the sled and wanted a brand new sled for thier troubles or they all just went to another company that was proven and had very little problems with thier products. On their website www.ski-doo.com, they posted a list of recalls, parts that would be covered by them, etc. They has a list of sleds, defective parts, and what the problem was, then they said take it to a local dealer for a free repair. Up until today, they still deal with some issues but not as many as before, since they listened to the consumer and repaired and worked out any bugs brought to attention by the consumer. Today they are still number one and work to bring a more reliable product to the consumer.

Vacation Destination. (Assignment 2)

My choice of destination would to go to British Columbia Or The Yukon Territory During the winter months and remain there until spring or until all the snow is gone. For a few reasons and to name a few one of them would be for snowmobiling, and hunting wild game animals. I Like to snowmobile during the winter and if i could, i would be doing it every day until no snow is left whatsoever. I would stay in British Columbia for the mountains, and then go to the yukon for the longer winter and deeper snow. I also heard the hunting is great in the yukon that the animals get so big it's not even funny. I would hunt in the fall time tho so i don't have to trek in snow up to your ears. I Would hunt moose, bears, deer, and smaller game or water fowl. Then afterwards i would go home later in the season for time with family.

I will drive to B.C and the yukon, it will be bymyself so i don't have to worry about anyone but myself. The trip will last the whole year and i estimate it would cost around 370,000 you know with fuel cost, food, hotels, night outs, snowmobiles, permits, etc. I will stay in hotels the whole time cause i don't know anyone over in those parts, when i go hunting, i'll make sure it is a isolated place so i don't have to deal with conservation officers and get hundreds of dollars in fines, etc. Hopefully i'll bag me that trophy moose i always wanted one day.
